Johnson Controls has announced the launch of its York YVAM air-cooled magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller with low GWP refrigerant R1234ze for hyperscale and colocation data centre cooling.
The YORKYVFA Free-Cooling, Variable-Speed Screw Chiller is the first free-cooling screw chiller in the U.S. to use R-1234ze, a refrigerant with ultra-low global warming potential.
Johnson Controls is collaborating with 3Degrees, a California-based firm that helps organisations around the world achieve renewable energy and decarbonisation goals.
Johnson Controls’ new York YZ centrifugal chiller is said to be the first such machine designed specifically for use with low GWP refrigerant R1233zd and using magnetic bearing technology.
