Panasonic to launch home R290 air-to-water heat pumps in Europe
Japanese manufacturer Panasonic’s European division has announced the 2023 launch of its Aquarea L Series propane (R290) residential air-to-water heat pumps, boasting an improved design and A+++ efficiencies with a Seasonal COP (SCOP) of up to 5.12.
“With reduced noise levels and enhanced comfort and efficiency, the new generation of Aquarea heat pumps offer extensive technological advancements whilst retaining the strengths of the Panasonic Aquarea range,” according to a statement by Panasonic. This series aligns with the company’s Green Impact plan and its vision of a carbon-free society.
The R290 L Series is touted as the perfect solution for renovating a home with radiators, especially where a high water outlet temperature is required. The unitprovides water outlet temperatures of up to 75°C (167°F). Domestic hot water up to 65°C (149°F) can be provided without a heater for tank sterilization.
Offering a range of capacities, the Aquarea series is reliable even at low temperatures as low as -25°C (-13°F), according to the manufacturer. It can also be selected to match weather conditions and house design. The outdoor heat exchanger has bluefin treatment protection
The new Aquarea L also benefits from a reduced sound level, up to 8dB(A) less than previous models. “This advantage makes the installation more flexible by offering more placement possibilities,” said Panasonic.
The new design ensures increased safety for the use of R290, said Panasonic.
