MHI delivers R1234ze(E) chillers to Marina Bay
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has delivered two R1234ze(E) centrifugal chillers with a total cooling capacity of 8,400RT to Singapore’s Marina Bay district cooling facility.
The two chillers from its GART series will bring the total number of centrifugal chillers provided by MHI Group to the Marina Bay area to 18.
The GART-400PLS.SCF centrifugal chillers, each of 4,200RT cooling capacity, are the largest capacity of all units delivered to the Marina Bay district cooling system to date.
As well as using the extremely low GWP HFO refrigerant R1234ze(E), the chillers have a near 6% higher COP and approximately 10% higher integrated part load value than earlier models. This is effected by the adoption of a tandem operating configuration resulting in reduced energy consumption.
The system produces chilled water centrally at two plants, which serves the air conditioning needs of over 20 buildings in the Marina Bay district.
