Denmark and Croatia ratify Kigali
The number of countries to have ratified the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol has risen to 62 with the addition of Denmark and Croatia.
Agreed by all 197 parties to the Montreal Protocol in October 2016, the Kigali Amendment seeks a global reduction of HFC refrigerants starting on January 1, 2019. It is estimated that a global implementation of the Kigali Amendment would prevent up to 80 billion tonnes CO2 equivalent of emissions by 2050.
