Bitzer supports training in Nigeria
German compressor manufacturer Bitzer has supplied equipment and tools in support of the fight against poverty and unemployment in Nigeria.
Subsidiary company Bitzer Nigeria supplied Ecostar condensing units as well as HVAC accessories and tools to the Institute for Industrial Technology (IIT), a local refrigeration and air conditioning training centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
Together with First Class Group Ltd, a local Nigerian contractor, Bitzer also supported in the installation of an air conditioning cycle for the institute. Future collaboration will include the enhancement of the IIT’s refrigeration and air conditioning curriculum as well as providing training for external HVAC industry stakeholders in its training room with Bitzer equipment.
The Institute for Industrial Technology is a project of the non-profit organisation African Development Foundation. It addresses the problems of youth unemployment and poverty in Nigeria by offering technical vocational education and training to young locals.
Bitzer has been present with an own office in Nigeria since early 2017. With its office in Lagos, the specialist for refrigeration and air-conditioning technology has established a presence closer to users in West Africa and strengthens its support for business partners and users in the region. The company is also in the process of building a service centre and warehouse in Lagos.
