A-Gas establishes new refrigerant recovery and reclamation facility in Ontario to expand operations in Canada
A-Gas, a global leader in providing refrigerants and related products and services, is expanding its operations in Canada. Mike Armstrong, Managing Director and President of A-Gas in the Americas, said that the company has over 30 years of international experience and a strong platform in the United States, and is now excited to further develop its solutions in Canada. A-Gas has been supporting the Canadian refrigerant industry for over a decade and is now looking forward to bringing its industry-leading technology to the Canadian marketplace to assist customers with effective lifecycle refrigerant management solutions.
A-Gas has chosen Hamilton, Ontario, for its first refrigerant recovery and reclamation facility in Canada and plans to start operations in the fourth quarter of this year. This new facility will be A-Gas’s fourth refrigerant processing plant in North America and the first in Canada. Jim Flowers, Commercial Director of A-Gas in Canada, said that A-Gas is bringing superior capabilities through refrigerant recovery, reclamation, and end-of-life destruction. As customers face the challenges associated with the HFC phasedown, A-Gas will be there to support them every step of the way.
The A-Gas site in Ontario will be capable of processing and cleaning recovered refrigerant from the local market. Used refrigerant sent to the facility will undergo chemical analysis at the onsite laboratory and will be reclaimed to AHRI-700 standards. A-Gas’s multimillion-dollar investment in Canada will provide high-speed refrigerant recovery, quality refrigerant supply, a unique, cost-effective refrigerant reclaim program, and on-site laboratory and analytical services.
Jack Govers, Chief Executive Officer of the A-Gas Group, noted that Canada’s long-standing commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions is strongly aligned with A-Gas’s purpose to protect and enhance the environment. The company is ready to support its new and existing customers in the region and is looking forward to growing its platform in Ontario today and across Canada in the near future.
