18 and 26 January 2023 - Asia Pacific exploring innovative strategy to garner general public advocacy on Ozone2Climate Action
National Ozone Officers (NOOs) of South Asia (SA), Southeast Asia (SEA) and Pacific Island Countries (PICs) Networks jointly discussed the 2023 Communications and Public Outreach Strategy through the two virtual consultation meetings on 18 and 26 January 2023. A total of 63 participants (39 females and 24 males) engaged in the virtual meetings.

The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP), West Asia Office, organized a coordination meeting to discuss progress achieved in the implementation of Montreal Protocol, which brought together representatives from the National Ozone Unit (NOU) / Ministry of Environment in Iraq and members of the UNEP CAP West Asia team to discuss progress achieved in the implementation of Montreal Protocol funded projects in Iraq, namely the second stage of the HCFC phase-out management plan (HPMP) and Phase V of the Institutional Strengthening Project (ISP), as well as challenges faced and the support that can be provided to the NOU and national team to ensure the sound implementation of activities under those two projects.
8 - 12 August 2022 - Innovative approaches to green cooling study trip to Germany
From 8 to 12 August 2022, a delegation from the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) took part in a study trip to Frankfurt and Berlin. The visit aimed to further strengthen knowledge and for the exchange of information on innovative approaches to cooling, heating, and energy efficiency.
1 August 2022 - 2022 Ozone2Climate Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable convenes in Chongqing, China
The 11th Ozone2Climate (O2C) Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable was jointly organized by the Foreign Environmental Cooperation Center, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, China(FECO/MEE) and the China Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry Association (CRAA), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), as part of the 33rd International Exhibition for Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating and Ventilation, Frozen Food Processing, Packaging and Storage (CRH 2022), one of the three most influential annual exhibitions in the world, and the largest of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region. The event was held in Chongqing, China from 1 – 3 August 2022.
11-16 July 2022 - Parties to the Montreal Protocol reunite in Bangkok
After two years of virtual meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer were reunited at the forty-fourth Open-ended Working Group meeting in Bangkok, Thailand from 11-16 July 2022. The parties were happy to interact face-to-face again. While the agenda and workload were heavy, the positive energy with which the parties embarked the meeting was palpable.
4 - 8 July 2022 - Eurammon Symposium 2022
“Natural refrigerants will play an important role in creating a sustainable future for our planet.” That was the key finding of the eurammon Symposium 2022 as Rob Lamb of Star Refrigeration Ltd., chairman of the Steering Committee of eurammon e. V. put it. The 5-day online event took place from 4 to 8 July and was attended by more than 500 participants from 29 countries across the world. These included representatives from governmental organisations, NGOs, training institutes, and industry.
11 May 2022 - Kenya launches the Green Cooling Initiative III
On May 11 the Kick Off workshop of the GCI III was held in Kenya. This session served to discuss with stakeholders the objectives of the new phase of the project, which aims to put Kenya at the forefront of green cooling technologies in East and Central Africa.

Since February 27 till March 2, 2017, a meeting of representatives of refrigeration associations of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Ukraine as well as working groups from Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan took place in Moscow. It resulted in establishing the Interstate technical committee which will help specialists in refrigeration solve their common problems.

10-14 October 2016 - Summary of the twenty-eighth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol
The twenty-eighth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer (MOP 28) met from 10-14 October 2016, in Kigali, Rwanda. Over 500 participants from governments, UN agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, academia, and industry attended the meeting.
Results of XVI European Eonference
The conference was the largest event in the history of Centro Studi Galileo and the Italian Association of Refrigeration Technicians CSG has been able to celebrate its 40th anniversary with extreme satisfaction: 200 participants from 4 continents, more than 50 speakers and 26 Platinum, Gold and Silver Partners came together to support the Conference. Our industry will face huge challenges in the coming years and in response, the main theme of the conference was “Do not Wait – Act now!” (Per Jonasson President of AREA). Our industry will suffer if we do not act now; however if immediate action is taken, there will be innumerable benefits both for the environment and future technological evolutions and innovations. In particular for session 1 to 4, the key concepts from the Conference and the conclusions are therefore: zero use of refrigerants with a high Global Warming Potential GWP environmental impact, energy efficiency, and correct labeling. All of these actions are to be undertaken urgently in the coming months; further innovations will help and support European Companies and expansion into new markets …
